H-1B cap season

H-1B Lottery Registration

The time to start is now. If the March window is on your horizon, preparation takes months — and the registration window itself lasts only weeks.

Each year, employers register the workers they want to sponsor for cap-subject H-1B status during a short registration window in March. USCIS runs a lottery over those registrations. If a registration is selected, the employer may then file the H-1B petition during the filing window.

We start this process as early as six months before formal registration. Every case is prepared as if already chosen, so that if your registration is selected, we move forward with the H-1B petition right away. Often that petition is a change of status, for example from F-1 OPT to H-1B.

The official 2027 registration dates are announced by USCIS, typically in January or February. We update this page the day they are announced — and if you inquire now, we confirm your dates directly. The government registration fee is currently $215 per beneficiary; we confirm the 2027 figure when USCIS announces it.

For employers

You register your employees. We confirm each beneficiary's eligibility, prepare the registration, and handle the petition if selected. Tell us the roles and the people — we take it from there.

Every case starts with confirming the position itself is H-1B eligible — a specialty occupation, with the degree and duties to match — and that the petition can be filed quickly for an October 1 start date.

HR managers: please alert us as soon as you can, and canvas how many prospective or actual employees you wish to register. With that number, we begin preparing multiple entries now — everything ready, including the due diligence — so nothing is rushed when the window opens.

For individuals

You cannot register yourself — the employer must do the registering. What you can do now: find out whether you qualify, and get your employer moving. Tell us your situation and we map the path, including what your employer needs to do.

How it works

  1. Tell us about the role and the beneficiary — through the form below.
  2. We confirm eligibility and prepare the registration.
  3. The employer registers during the March window.
  4. If selected, we file the H-1B petition in the filing window.

What to prepare now

Degree and transcripts, job title and duties, worksite location, employer details. If any of that is still taking shape, say so in the form — that is what the consultation is for.

Registration enters the lottery. It does not guarantee selection, and no outcome is promised.
